It is rumored that since the birth of her third child in 2021, Marie Kondo is no longer so particular about tidying up and creating order. She also says that it is now chaotic at home. Thank you! 😉 This is actually very reassuring for us mothers, who also try to get so much under one hat and do not manage to keep our home constantly neat and presentable.
Much more important to Marie Kondo at this stage of her life than a perfectly tidy home is to consciously enjoy the time with her children and husband and to find enough time for herself and relaxation in addition to her job.
Of course, this new book is also all about the famous question "Does it spark joy?", but Marie Kondo applies this question to all thinking and behavior.
The Japanese term Kurashi means "way of life" or "the way to spend the day". It is about making conscious, mindful choices for yourself and your family environment. The book is divided into chapters: ideal home, joy in the morning, joy throughout the day, joy in the evening. By consciously looking at what brings us joy, it is easier for us to make decisions and to live and act accordingly.
I recommend this book to anyone who:
- is looking for happiness in everyday life
- wishes for a stress-free and orderly family life
- wants to enjoy the little things every day
