Children's clothes.... Order in the wardrobe.

Are your children's wardrobes and chests of drawers also stuffed full and totally cluttered? Many things haven't really fit for a long time or the children simply don't like certain items of clothing and they are never worn...
With the help of the following 4 steps, I quickly and easily put my wardrobe in order. Marie Kondo's hair would probably stand on end, as the "spark joy theme" is not really taken into account, but it certainly worked for me.

  1. First think about what would be a reasonable number of items of clothing per category. For my boys, I have determined the following numbers: 5 trousers (jeans and trainer trousers), 7 T-shirts, 5 pullovers, 3-4 hoodies or jackets (e.g. fibre furs), 7 pants, 7 pairs of socks, 1 jacket depending on the season, possibly 1 spare, 2-3 pairs of shoes.
  2. Take all the clothes out of the wardrobe and sort them by category and child. (like Marie Kondo 😉 )
  3. Pick out exactly the number of pieces from the whole pile of clothes. Depending on the age of the children, they can pick out their favourite pieces themselves. Experience shows that children have 2-3 favourite outfits anyway and would probably be totally satisfied with even fewer.
  4. Everything else you can either donate or sell. If you are unsure, I recommend that you put the sorted items in a box with a date and description. (also opposite of KonMarie method). If no one has missed the clothes within 3-6 months, everything can go.
