Frequently asked questions

As a tidying coach, I support you in tidying up your life sustainably and systematically. Together we develop individual solutions that fit you and your life situation. We tackle things together. Together we sort, clean out and restructure everything and I give you many useful tips and tricks along the way. At the end of the coaching, you will know how to tidy up properly and can tackle further tidying projects confidently and without help.

With a tidying coach, you're guaranteed to get there faster and save yourself a lot of time and nerves. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily continue on your own... in the future you will save a lot of money because you will make fewer wrong and double purchases. If it were that easy, the tidying guru Marie Kondo wouldn't have so much success with her bestsellers on the subject of tidying. Since 2019, you can even admire her on Netflix with the series "Tidying up with Marie Kondo". I love the show! My coaching is similar to what happens on the show. I like to compare tidying up to losing weight or exercising regularly. It's much easier when you have a supportive coach by your side who motivates you and has lots of useful tips and tricks in store and doesn't let up straight away.

Of course not. As a tidying coach, I will support you and help you make decisions, or I will simply pass on my experience to you. Where exactly you want to tidy up and what you want to keep or not, you decide all by yourself. There are no rules. The only important thing is: Does it spark joy? So, does it (still) make you happy or not?

For me as a tidiness coach, it's just normal everyday life. I really like to have clutter because I like to restore order. So it's an exciting challenge for me and I enjoy it a lot. Some people have real talents, I like tidying up. It's normal to lose track of things in today's hectic world, where you can shop online 24 hours a day and most people own far too many things. After all, new things come into the house every day. It's not possible to take care of everything all the time and then it quickly ends up in a drawer or somewhere in the house and over time it's pure chaos.... This is quite normal and happens to everyone (including me...). The important thing is to take the first step, because tidying is addictive. I have also heard it said that tidying up is like exercising a muscle. You get better and better with time...

No, not at all. First we tidy up in peace and quiet. Most of the time you have enough storage space after tidying up and clearing out. So it takes zero preparation. During our first telephone conversation you can tell me your wishes and ideas so that I can get an overview. If we had to buy something else, I would mention it then. Most of the time, however, it's only small organisational aids that are needed. You can decide for yourself whether you want to do that and what you want to buy. I don't have any fixed ideas or products of my own.

I'm definitely not going to take anything away from you. I think it will probably make you happier if you dispose of things yourself. Marie Kondo says that ideally the way you dispose of things should also make you happy, so it's very individual. Some take the stuff to your favourite second-hand shop, others want to sell it at a flea market or get rid of it online on Tutti and Co... or you know a good charitable organisation. There are many possibilities and it's up to everyone to know and decide for themselves. I was even recently at a re-home event where you could simply take a lot of things for free...

After the tidiness coaching, it will be much easier to keep things in order. Every item will have a "home". The only thing you have to do is to bring it back home after use.... And you should ideally consider disposing of something from the same category when making new purchases (one in one out rule). Of course, there is always a little mess in everyday life... but if you "restart" for 10-20 minutes a day after coaching, it will stay very tidy.
